Founded by Alexander Rolle, Dreamer's License is a boutique creative wellness studio, supporting artists and performers to dream well.

About

How do we dream well?

For artists and performers there exists an ever-present struggle to lean into the hard work of bringing your ideas to life, while also making sure there’s enough of you left to enjoy the fruit of your labor. That dichotomy of sacrifice and self-care is hard to discern at times, especially if you believe you’re doing it alone. To dream well means you get to choose both, with the right support behind you.My work blends therapeutic insight with artistic practice to help individuals and organizations explore wellbeing through storytelling, reflection, and embodiment.

Overview

How would you spend the end of the world?Millennium Black is a comedic and heartfelt historical fantasy set in the DMV area during the countdown of Y2K. In this alternate timeline, a few days from the new year, reports of missing black people spread and cause panic among the population. The play focuses on an eclectic black Y2K support group as they try to make sense of what’s going on given their different backgrounds, perspectives, and convictions. When one of their own group members goes missing, this brings out the more complicated feelings and conversations that come when we try to reconcile our differences. This story is a reflection on community, diversity of thought, and how we might build bridges of understanding in unprecedented times.
